RPS GaiaTech was recently retained to conduct environmental due diligence in connection with the acquisition of the remaining 50% share ownership of International-Matex Tank Terminals (IMTT). IMTT stores and handles petroleum products, various chemicals, renewable fuels and vegetable and animal oils. IMTT is one of the largest independent providers of bulk liquid terminal services in the U.S., operating 12 terminal facilities located strategically throughout North America.
A multi-disciplinary technical consulting team was formed to work closely with legal counsel with the objective of completing an independent assessment of disclosed environmental liabilities and reserves, the existence of potential material unaccounted for environmental liabilities, corporate operating history, offsite waste disposal and other third-party liability (i.e. Natural Resource Damage claims), existing environmental management systems and personnel, and the business impact of emerging environmental regulations.
RPS GaiaTech was able to bring industry experts in air emissions, oil & gas, marine regulations, and emerging air and water regulations to advise and contribute to the project allowing us to successfully complete the review in a remarkable 10 business days, ahead of client expectations.
